Really Deep Poems
For People With Really Deep Heads
Do you have a deep head? Take this simple test to find out:
- #1) What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word "pastry"?
- food
- scary little french men
- toaster strudels
- cheese
- #2) Who's your favourite poet?
- e e cummings
- Emily Dickensen
- That guy at Hallmark who rhymed "orange" with "mourn"
- Me
- #3) How many poems have you written in the past year?
- 1-5
- 5-15
- 15-30
- More than 30
I'd like to tell you whether or not you're a deep head, but I don't have a scoring system for this test. Sorry. I think if you actually finished the test without leaving, then you've got at least a medium deep head. If you read all these other poems, you've got a really deep head...but don't let it get too deep, for the love of god! You might have a cave in!
These are all poems I've either collected or written myself...also some good lyrics that I've picked up during the course of my life. (An asterisk indicates that it's a personal favourite.)

My Stuff
- Extinguished, 3-26-99--written shortly before a stupid/tragic event in my life which I now look on and laugh at his stupidity. This was my attitude just before it happened.
- Oh, My Love--written *after* the event. A while after, to be precise. One of two basic types of poems: Either reconsilatory or progressive. (This is reconsilatory, if you can't tell.)
- Humble Pie--Again, reconsilatory...but towards a much more deserving man than the previous one.
- Remember--kind of a letting-go piece...if you have to you, just don't leave with a bitter taste in your mouth. This one could be done better.
- The Unforgettable Flame--A really good Celtic Pride piece...got me off the love jones I was on and put me back where I belong...somewhere between insane and Mars.
Another great poetry site: The Coffee House Poet. He's good...verrrrrry good.
