Extinguished (3-26-99)

I have a love great enough to move mountains
His presence is strong as he stands by my side
His arms are my shelter; his kind words, my comfort--
He knows what to do when there's fear in my heart.
My love is my strength, my passion unending,
And just when I need him, he's there by my side.
When shadows of doubt make my soul start to tremble,
His love is a comfort that brightens my eyes.
My love is a beacon, a song neverending,
His heart is so patient when dealing with me
My weaknesses scare me, but I know he loves me,
And so I can conquer the mightiest foe.
He asks me to trust him, how could I deny him?
I'd lay bare my neck for just one golden smile
His word is my law; his happiness, mine--
I'd give up my life just to stand at his side.
I dreamt that we married, my true love and I--
We lived in a cottage away from it all.
I gave him two sons, both handsome and strong,
And a daughter so fair to make anyone sigh.
We lived there together, in peace and in love,
And sometimes we quarreled, but isn't that life?
We loved with such passion, our lives were so filled,
That sadness dared not to appear at our door.
The dreamer was woken, her heart still a-pounding,
And now I just hope *he* will let it come true.
For I am unworthy of his love for me,
But I shall endeavour to give him my own.
The moth, she was dancing, the flame she avoided,
She craved warmth and light, but feared the harsh singe.
She flitted, and fluttered, but now she has settled,
And finds that her life will be never the same.
