Oh, My Love...

Kari Lynn

Oh, my love...
I've been down on my knees for so long
they ache so deeply; they bleed...
I scrape and crawl, beseching and begging...
And yet an eternity further seems fair price
For one glance of hope, one ray of light.
"Have you no pride?"
Pride? Maybe...maybe not...but love, I have in abundance.

Oh, my love...
What could I have done to chance the course
of ever-flowing, on-going History?
Is there aught I could say to remove that thorn
I so callusly placed in your paw?

Oh, my love...
I know that if I could just see you--
or rather, you could see me--
look deeply into my eyes, both sorrowful and sincere--
if I could sing for you, dance for you,
bare my heart and soul to you...
you might find it in *your* heart
to spare this poor mouse.
